We carry fears, labels, expectations, experiences, and old beliefs about who we are and what we're capable of. Those things can affect how freely we express ourselves, how confidently we use our voices, and how connected we feel to who we truly are.
I believe that when we create space to release what no longer serves us, we make room for greater self-compassion, expression, growth, and connection with our authentic selves.
That's at the heart of why I created Soul Sound Connection — a space where sound, voice, mindfulness, movement, self-exploration, and spirituality can come together to help you slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with you.
My Journey — From Teaching the Voice to Listening to It
I began my professional career as a music educator and performer. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mansfield University and continued studying voice extensively after college, including mentorship with renowned vocal teacher Seth Riggs.
My own vocal journey led me toward a more holistic approach to singing. I became fascinated by what happens when we stop forcing the voice and begin allowing the breath, body, and voice to work together.
For years, my teaching focused on helping students release physical tension, develop healthy vocal technique, explore their range, and discover the unique qualities of their own sound.
But somewhere along the way, I realized I was listening to more than the voice.
I began noticing connections between the tension I heard and what a student was experiencing. Sometimes we would uncover something someone had said years earlier that made them believe they couldn't sing. Sometimes there was fear around a particular part of their range. Sometimes using the voice brought up vulnerability, insecurity, or a fear of truly being heard.
For students who were open to going deeper, our lessons naturally began to change.
We explored old beliefs and experiences. We connected with younger parts of themselves. We cried together. We laughed. We used breath, movement, sound, Reiki, crystals, meditation, and other practices. At times, I received intuitive guidance that helped direct where we went next.
And then we'd come back to the voice.
I began witnessing students release tension and experience sounds and parts of their vocal range that previously felt inaccessible to them.
That changed the way I understood my work.
I wasn't abandoning vocal technique. I was expanding the way I looked at the person using the voice.
For roughly the past eight years, that approach has continued to evolve. Some of my students still come to me simply because they want to become better singers — and I love teaching them. Others are drawn to the deeper emotional, energetic, and spiritual work that can happen through the voice.
Eventually, I realized those two experiences deserved the space to exist intentionally.
That evolution became the foundation for Soul Sound Voice and an important part of the work I now bring into Soul Sound Connection.
Because I've come to believe that freeing the voice isn't always about learning how to make a better sound.
Sometimes it's about discovering what happens when we finally feel safe enough to let ourselves be heard.
Intuition, Sound & Spirit
My connection with sound is both musical and intuitive.
Alongside my training and experience as a musician and teacher, I've always experienced sound and energy on a deeper level. I intuitively tune into the frequencies and qualities I hear in someone's voice, and those impressions can help guide me toward areas we may want to explore together.
It's one of the reasons some of my students have affectionately called me the “Voice Whisperer.”
My spiritual practice is also an important part of who I am and the work I offer. I connect with Spirit and may receive intuitive impressions, messages, words, images, or guidance. I also channel messages and ideas — SoulBration itself came to me in this way.
Depending on the person and the experience they've chosen, I may incorporate this intuitive guidance alongside voice work, sound healing, Reiki, crystals, chakra work, meditation, or other spiritual practices.
I don't believe spirituality looks the same for everyone, and I don't expect it to. My role isn't to tell you what you're supposed to believe.
It's to listen — to you, to your voice, to what I intuitively receive, and to what unfolds in a safe space we create together.
Your soul has its own song.
Soul Sound Connection is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and explore what becomes possible when you reconnect with your voice, your intuition, and yourself.
